assignment # 6(Jean Augustine)

Jean Augustine was born is September 9Th 1937 in St.George's ,Grenada. From 1994 to 1996, and was the Minister of State for multiculturalism, and the status of women until 2004. she was an elementary school principal with the Metropolitan Separate School Board in Toronto. She was also National President of the Congress of Black Women of Canada.In the 1993 federal election, Augustine became the first African Canadian woman elected to the Parliament of Canada and subsequently the first black woman in a federal Cabinet. She also served three terms as Chair of the National Liberal Women's Caucus.In February 2002, Jean Augustine was elected Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade. On May 26, 2002 Jean Augustine was appointed Secretary of State (Multiculturalism) (Status of Women). In December 2003, she was re-appointed to the new Cabinet as Minister of State (Multiculturalism and Status of Women). In 2004, she was appointed to the position of Assistant Deputy Chairs of Committees of the Whole, making her the first African Canadian to occupy the Speaker's Chair in the Canadian House of Commons.On November 28, 2005, Augustine announced her intention to retire and that she would not be a candidate in the 2006 Canadian election. She endorsed Liberal Michael Ignatieff to succeed her.
In 2007, Augustine was nominated by the Government of Ontario to become the first Fairness Commissioner, a position created to advocate for Canadians with foreign professional credentials.

assignment #5- it's really cold outside (zzzz)

my new assignment is about weather,
do you feel cold??
do you know what cloth you have to wear to stay warm?
i will tell u how i felt when i was outside about 1 hour ago
it's freezing today different than other days ,yeah i had to wear a pair or pants under my jeans
and a t-shirt ,a sweater ,snow jacket ,hat,mitts and a scarf
you may say :you hind your wearing a lot of cloth on you. I would say NO because even though I'm wearing all that i still feel cold . It was about -34.
Plus it was the first time in my whole life to see the snow after i saw it on the T.V.
I was still new to Canada so I'm not used to this extremely cold weather,

Canada in such a wonderful country, its amazing and i loved living here and i don't want to go back to Dubai yeah its a Good country and i was Born there but, in Canada i found the education that i ever wanted and every thing i was dreaming about , in a 100 years Canada will be so nice and more than 10 million person will live in it .perhaps there will be some flying cars,modern technology ,a lot of huge malls,shopping centers and a lot of other parks,museums
I WISH I COULD STAY 100 YEARS MORE TO SEE HOE CANADA WILL LOOK LIKE <3>
